Our first catered event at Galusha Hill Farm was one-of-a-kind - with a great menu, an incredible mountain-top setting (and sunset) and a modern, yet rustic, post and beam lodge to house guests. The four meals we provided for the wedding weekend retreat fueled guests and made us feel like we were part of the party. It's weddings like these that reinforce our love for what we do!
Catering an entire weekend's worth of food for 75 people is no easy feat - but with our passionate kitchen staff and tireless servers, we made it happen!
Both Saturday and Sunday morning we provided a buffet-style breakfast - with freshly made eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes, yogurt, granola, fruit salad, orange juice, and plenty of coffee.
Saturday afternoon, we provided build your own bag lunches so guests could wander the property and have a picnic.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour included three Sugarsnap specialty drinks and three classic cocktails as well as these appetizers:
Vermont cheese platter
Chicken and apple empanadas
Poached pear and brie tartlets
Smoked salmon cucumber cups
Crab bakes with Old Bay aioli
The newly weds chose a plated-style dinner - where guests decide ahead of time which meal they would like and are served by our wait staff at their seat. A family style garden salad waited on the table and then the three options for dinner:
Braised brisket with red wine demi, smashed potatoes, and garlic kale
Salmon with lemon herb buerre blanc, buttered new potatoes and green beans with bronze fennel
Chickpea curry with brown rice, spinach, and glazed carrots.
The Galusha Hill Farm & Lodge rest on a one-of-a-kind 600-acre hilltop. Looking out from the extensive back porch, you can soak up the rolling fields, gardens, trees, and best of all, a sunset that lights the sky in shades of orange and purple. Guests were able to stay at the retreat the entire weekend, and spend their days with family and friends roaming the estate, swimming at the lake, and enjoying the breeze. Setting up a tent allows for outdoor gatherings of up to 120 guests, and its secluded yet accessible location makes it the perfect venue for a weekend getaway!
