The great bean harvest

by Abbey Duke, Founder & CEO

It is always a little exciting and a little daunting once the beans start to produce. Here we have 20 pounds of beans that took me about two hours to pick. I am not a fast bean picker, just average probably. Beans are tricky because it is necessary to pick them every few days. If a picking is missed or the timing is off it takes much longer to do the subsequent harvest because a lot of time is spent picking and tossing over ripe beans. On the other hand, if the plants are taken care of they can produce the whole summer. The plan is to take care of the plants.
