Sugarsnap is Now “Just” a Catering Company

by Abbey Duke, Founder & CEO

Friday, June 23 will be our last day operating our cafe in Tech Park in South Burlington. We have enjoyed our customers and operating our cafes over the years (on Riverside Ave., at ECHO and at Tech Park), but I have decided that it is time for us to completely focus Sugarsnap on catering.

Our full service and corporate delivery catering services have grown tremendously over the years. We are a leader in farm-to-table catering in Vermont, and we are really excited about our future. However, we need more space for storage, offices, kitchen equipment and client meetings. We also need more of our most precious resource — time.

The more I analyzed our cafe operation, the more I realized that it was taking precious time and energy away from our core business. Catering is a difficult business. It is a dynamic combination of food service and logistics management. To do it well, requires commitment and discipline.

Closing the cafe is going to help all of us at Sugarsnap to be even better at catering. We will be introducing more services; we will publish our seasonal menus earlier and we will be able to cater more and even larger events.

As always, please contact us if you have any comments or questions (or if you have an upcoming event!).

I very much appreciate your support and business.

Abbey
