Why We Closed Riverside

by Abbey Duke, Founder & CEO

Hi everyone,

Last month we made the tough decision to close our original location on Riverside Avenue.

It was bittersweet to close the location. We got our start there 10 years ago and I have a lot of memories there. We learned so much from all our our wonderful regular customers. And we really loved being right at the entrance to the Intervale.

But, the building needs a lot of work and we really aren’t in the position to take on that big of an investment. We considered buying the building and making it work. But, in the end, I decided it was a distraction from what has become the real core of Sugarsnap: catering.

Our catering business has grown tremendously over the years. Our big kitchen in So. Burlington that we put in 3.5 years ago, has given us the capacity to cater much larger and many more events. We have also added a bar service.

Our goal is to be the biggest and best caterer in Vermont. I hope you will help us get there!

Also, come see us at our other two locations. Both cafes have plenty of seating.

Technology Park in So. Burlington at 30 Community Drive. We are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 2pm.

ECHO on Burlington’s Waterfront. We are open 10am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.

I hope to see you there!
